Vocal Point-Mike Berry

The Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. tried to place an innocent ad on buses and trains in the Metro system to promote the real meaning of Christmas at Christmas time. But the transit authority said, “No.” The ad depicted shepherds, along with the website name: FindThePerfectGift.org. But in 2015, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority had adopted a policy that won’t allow religious ads on their vehicles. The Archdiocese says that is unconstitutional and has filed a lawsuit. First Liberty (as in our first liberty is religious freedom) agrees. They have filed a friend-of-the-court brief to support the Church’s lawsuit. Mike Berry, attorney with First Liberty, said that the city is violating the First Amendment in this case. Mike Berry joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss the case and what is at issue.  www.firstliberty.org
