Can we trust the Bible? There are many hyper critics of the Bible. If they were to apply the same standards of criticism to ancient history, as they do to the Bible, they should be complete historic agnostics. They should not call the 7th month “July”—as it is named after Julius Caesar, nor should they refer to August (named after Octavion, a.k.a., Caesar Augustus, Julius’ nephew).

Here is an adult Sunday school lecture at delivered by Jerry Newcombe on attacks on the Bible, with a particular focus on Dr. Bart Ehrman, who has written many books that claim the Bible, including the New Testament, is not reliable. The video is courtesy of Tim Savage.

Al Conklin / Meteorologist: Dear Dr. Newcombe, I just wanted to pass along a note of thanks for your excellent commentaries, as passed along in The Bell Ringer. They are thought provoking and I’ve shared them with many friends and family members over the years. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
