Vocal Point-Adam Carrington

Topic: The Coronavirus and the American Republic   [recorded 3/27/20]

The Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution have weathered many storms through the years—including the US Civil War, World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II. Surely, they will weather the coronavirus pandemic currently gripping the nation. Dr. Adam Carrington is an assistant professor of politics at Hillsdale College. The coronavirus crisis gets us to ask a fundamental question: What is the purpose of government in the first place? He writes, “The rule of law forms a fundamental component of our republic. Most important, we look to our Constitution as the framework within which our governments—local, state, and national—must operate.”  Dr. Adam Carrington joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss this crisis. www.hillsdale.edu
