Dr. Paul Kengor teaches history and political science at Grove City College. He has also produced a number of bestselling books, some of which center around the 40th president, Ronald Reagan. His latest book is “A Pope and a President,” and it deals with Reagan and Pope John Paul II, whom the president called his “best friend.” Together, they played a major role in helping to break the Soviet Union’s grip on Poland. This ultimately helped play a major role in ending the cold war. www.visionandvalues.org/author/paul-g-kengor

Al Conklin / Meteorologist: Dear Dr. Newcombe, I just wanted to pass along a note of thanks for your excellent commentaries, as passed along in The Bell Ringer. They are thought provoking and I’ve shared them with many friends and family members over the years. Thanks, and keep up the good work!
