Was George Washington a Christian and why does it matter? Dr. Peter Lillback is the president of Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. In a real sense, he is the modern heir of Rev. John Witherspoon, the president of Princeton during the era of American Independence. When Princeton rejected the historic Christian faith in the early 20th century, Westminster was born to carry on Princeton’s important work. Dr. Lillback joined forces with Jerry Newcombe to produce the 1200-page book on the faith of our first president, “George Washington’s Sacred Fire.” Peter Lillback joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to answer the questions, “Was George Washington a Christian and why does it matter?” www.providenceforum.org
