Vocal Point-Wesley J. Smith

Wesley J. Smith is one of the most thoughtful writers around on the subject of death and dying. He is a bioethicist with the Discovery Institute. Smith frequently writes for National Review. Why did he first start writing about these things 25 years ago? Answer: The suicide of a friend that came about through what he calls “the whispers of strangers.” In the Western media, lately, there is a push to virtually glamorize assisted suicide. For example, a 104-year-old scientist from Australia bought a one-way ticket to Switzerland in order to have himself killed. He publicized this, resulting in a “media feeding frenzy.” Wesley J. Smith joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss the media’s push for assisted suicide and euthanasia. www.wesleyjsmith.com
